Center for Independent Living - Berkeley
United States
Приєднався 24 жов 2016
The Center for Independent Living, founded in 1972 in Berkeley, California, provides advocacy and services that increase awareness, collaboration, and opportunity among people with disabilities and the community at large. Our programs provide people with skills, knowledge, and resources that empower them to eliminate damaging and stereotypical notions of disability so that they can strive toward realizing their full human potential.
CIL emerged from the independent living movement of the 1960s as a powerful social catalyst on the University of California at Berkeley campus. There, Ed Roberts, Hale Zukas, and Jan McEwan Brown joined forces to lead a movement that made the full academic and social life of the university accessible to all. In 1972, these students and community members joined together to form The Center for Independent Living, Inc.

Awareness of CKD is highly important. When I informed my x manager at work in a Rotherham labour council children's home that I had to start dialysis within 2 weeks he made me walk through the home singing dead man walking and laughing. He got all the children and other staff to laugh at me before getting me in the office and threatening me with the sack and asking if I'm a liar. He then proceeded to phone me or my dialysis unit every dialysis session for 3 weeks demanding I prove I was on a machine or be sacked. I tried to make a complaint but was told ' you have had one dialysis session. You must be cured. Why do you need more dialysis and why can't you work full time. We have no qualified staff' Then more threats of being sacked if I didn't stop attending dialysis. Horrible horrible experience...
Would love to hear more about my great grandmother Marie
Pc 1977 Nathan Ford of Gwent police, Abergavenny local authorities, Wales nhs and the public of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Wales, UK would benefit from this, as they ban disabled people like myself from all services, existence banning them into eternal exile. Monmouthshire housing association needs to be trained too
With Prizmo you also have to factor in the cost of an iPhone, which is not trivial.
Is there a wifi in the train?

Very helpful thanks! All the information needed in under 5 minutes.😀
I watched the whole video and I was suprised that there was no mention to Romania, his experienced in the navy and submarine and last but not least his unique and awarded pizza recipes with fystikovoutiro. One minute why ?
I am annoyed i used a smart drive that had been used as their model so it was rightfully broken lol and didnt work for me. So i decided against the smart drive throwing me out of my wheelchair so i wanted to get a rio only to find out a company that make wheelchairs more accessible will not expand past a 22inch cushion 😤
Hippocamp is great but forget pushing it on sand. You would need King Kong arms X 10. So you still need a chair to be invented that you can push from your car into the sea on your own.
If I have a clipper card on my phone how do I enter into the boarding area using it? Do I just put my phone up to the clipper thingy?
mhm
How can kids 4 and under pass through the gate?
They just walk under it.
Thank you- very helpful!
stupid design...
Very informative, thank you!
Would like to be your partners In India.
Wery good
This is great! Thank you very much. I've watched it several times now, and you go straight from buy a clipper card to here's how you put money on it. Where do you buy the clipper card can you get it at the station or at any platform?
Staton
Exactly! 'Everyone must have a clipper card" but it doesn't say how to get one. 🤔 Do they come out of the machine like the paper tickets used to?
If u have an iphone go to wallet and click the + and there should be transit card and clicked that and u should see the card “ clipper “
yea they do
will be using bart for the 1st time in may. from Emeryville to oakland international.
How to do parking? Ezrider or Bart app? Do I still need to hang the tag provided by Bart if I were to use the Bart app? The website is very confusing and no mention about this. Thanks.
Is the clipper card mandatory? Can I buy a paper ticket instead?
Yes it is mandatory
Paper tix got disconnected In 2020
Yep like having the orca card in seattle
I had one of the SmartDrives and found it to be very dangerous. Wouldn’t always respond to commands and it occasionally just fell off. Do not buy!
❤💯🧑🦽🗣️🦵
Thank you a lot for this information!
Can illegal aliens use it on the beach to defecate?

Great info! Many Thanks!

Universal design MUST be one of the basic principles in formal parametric architecture. The other set of principles is the primitive future by Sou Fujimoto applied to formal parametric architecture. ADA and OSHA principles must be essential starting point too.
The tdx chairs have no shock absorbers in them hence bump around a lot if you have back problem it not a wise choice
The Firefly looks way more fun tho hahaha
I personally think having ramps that are either very short or just have everything on one level is more "Universal" design. Even if there was landings between sections of long ramps would be good. Its hard for people that can walk to go on ramps, let alone people wheelchair bound to push themselves up the incline with so many curves. Most people cant afford a power wheelchair to go up those long a$$ ramps. Also elevators shouldnt be the only way to get to each floor incase it stops working, my college has newer buildings where each floor has a door that leads to the outside parking lot.
Hi Stephanie. I am a democrat with morals. I just saw your commercial about voting laws. You said Republicans want to make it harder for minorities to vote. In all good conscience I cannot vote for you. I did a lot of research on the subject and while I don't like Republicans I like liars even less. You lied on national tv about the voting laws Republicans are trying to implement. They are designed to make the elections free of cheating. No way does it make it more difficult for anyone to vote. You either don't know what they are attempting to pass or you are a liar. Either way that disqualifies you from getting my vote. Truly shameful what has become of our government. I'm not going to vote R, I'm just not going to vote, it's too hard. Please , exercise honesty, morals and character when running for office. Every politician must have those qualities. Unfortunately very few do.
This guy is a bad ass!
